Tim Robinson has been named the Emergency Medical Technician of the year for the city of Lehi.

There were ten areas of criteria that each EMT was rated on, said Dale Ekins, chief of the Lehi Fire Department.

These included attitude, attendance, ability, dependability, team playing ability, and public image, he said.

Robinson has been a very active member of the Lehi Fire and Emergency Medical Service Department for four year. Robinson said he is different from the other EMTs that he works for because has he works well with other people and he has a good attitude about his job.

"I come to training every week, and my skills show that I'm working hard," he said.

"He stays clam in heat of the moment," said Mandi Hadfield, firefighter/EMT for Lehi.

Robinson put himself though firefighter classes voluntarily so that he could be education in both, Ekin said.

"He's a young person that's fairly aggressive. He wants to learn, he's very dependable and wants to be a team player. He will do well wherever he goes within public safety," he said.

In accepting the award, Robinson said, "I feel great, I'm surprised a little bit because I work with great people. I'm grateful for the nomination and the award. I don't think I could have got it without the people I work for and the people I work with."

There was a little kid EMTs had to do a full arrest on, Hatfield said. Robinson had assignments for everyone, and it ran as smooth as possible, she said.

"He's really thorough, and he's very efficient in what he does," said Hadfield.

Those that get the EMT of the year award are looked up to, Ekins said. "They are recognized as one of the best in our department," he said.

Now Robinson is looking for a full time position in the Salt Lake area, Ekins said.

Robinson said he would like to go onto paramedic school, and continue with his education.

"If I had a whole department full of Tim Robinson's I would be just tickled to death. He's got a good attitude, he's dedicated, his attendance is good. He's just a good young man," Ekins said.
