Margaret Nadauld, former Young Women's general president will be the keynote speaker at this year's Women's Leadership Conference.

Margaret Nadauld, former Young Women's general president, will be this year's keynote speaker at the BYU Women's Leadership Conference Saturday, March 1.

Nadauld will speak on this year's theme "For a Wise and Glorious Purpose" at 9 a.m.

Tenley Tolman, program director for Women's Services said, "We have a divine mission as women, and there's no better example than Sister Nadauld."

Tolman said BYU is lucky to have her come and speak to the women.

"She always talks with the spirit. She has touched the lives of women all over the world," Tolman said.

After Sister Nadauld speaks, breakout sessions will be at 10 and 11 a.m. with different authors and professors. The conference is designed to help women develop Christ-like leadership skills and to facilitate involvement in community and leadership opportunities.

Randy Bott, BYU religion professor, will speak on "The Times in Which We Live."

Bott said he hopes not only to put the world into perspective, since this is the most wicked world ever peopled by Heavenly Father's children, but also the times in which we live.

"I will focus on why the Lord saved you kids for this very hour and the awesome responsibility that falls on your shoulders because of the trust and assignment Heavenly Father has given you," he said.

Bott's intent is to fire each attendee with the vision of who she is and what is expected of her because of the pre-mortal agreements that each one made with God.

Another speaker at the conference, Bryan Sudweeks, will talk about "Finances and the Gospel."

"People have a gospel perspective on wealth that if they are doing what they should then they will be blessed with a house or a car," said Sudweeks, associate professor of business management, "but the blessings they receive are spiritual blessings."

He said, "People need to be financially self-reliant and my goal is to help people be wise stewards over the blessings they receive."

Sudweeks will focus on the following four main issues on being financially wise: people need to know what they want, learn to live on a budget, pay the lord first and yourself second and learn to give.

Other speakers include Rick and Mary Miller, authors Anita Stansfield and Emily Watts, Mary Jane Woodger and Kaye Hanson.

Topics at the conference include: leadership in marriage, developing talents while being a mother, female role models in the Doctrine and Covenants, divinity within women and reaching up, out and within.

The conference will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in WSC Ballroom. Sunday dress is appropriate. From noon to 1 p.m. is the closing social and refreshments will be served.
