"Dance of the Flowers," a mixed media on metal exhibit by BYU graduate David Adams will be on display from Aug. 19-31 at 1321 S. 2100 East in Salt Lake City. Having grown up in the desert regions of the western Rocky Mountains, Adams said he allows landscapes and outdoor pastimes to influence his work. For more information visit: agalleryonline.com.

MUSIC:

Blues Traveler performs Friday, Aug. 19, as part of the Neways Summer Concert Series at the Springville Acres Arts Park. Gate opens at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Order tickets at neways.com.

THEATER:

“See How They Run” at Hale Center Theater in Orem continues until Sept. 3. A 1940s comedy, this play has pleased audiences for years with its random plots and ridiculous humor. For tickets call 226-8600. (Halecentertheater.com).

The Tony-Award Winning Shakespearean Festival continues to draw crowds in Cedar City. The festival offers 10 plays this season, including “Camelot,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Foreigner.” Call 1-800-PLAYTIX or go to bard.org for more information.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

The annual Gallivan Center Folk and Bluegrass Festival takes place Saturday, Aug. 13 in Salt Lake City from 2-10 p.m. The festival will feature popular local, regional and national folk and blue grass artists with music influenced by everything from old-school western to rock. Salt Lake City’s Hogle Zoo is offering a special discount to visitors who want to beat the summertime heat. Before 10 a.m. any two people will be admitted for $10. The deal lasts until Aug. 31.
