The IceCats will bring their season to a close this weekend, with two games at the Peaks Ice Arena.
They begin Thursday, March 1, 2007, evening facing off with Utah State at 7:30 p.m. Their last regular season game will be against cross city rivals UVSC at 8:30 p.m. The IceCats (17-11-1) are looking for back-to-back victories to end the regular season on a high note.
Utah State has proven to be one of the IceCats toughest competitors this season. The IceCats have yet to defeat the Aggies in Logan, with the last meeting ending in a 3-3 draw. However, the IceCats defeated USU at home at the Peaks Ice Arena 3-1.
"We need to adhere to our plays and our system of play to beat Utah State," Assistant coach Don Homan said. "We need to keep control and keep hitting hard because that is how we have beaten them in the past."
The IceCats are looking for a solid performance from their defense to keep Aggie leading scorer Kent Arsenault from becoming a problem.
After Utah State, all attention will be on UVSC. The last time these two teams met, the Wolverines came out on top 7-5. UVSC sealed the win with a goal on an open net in the closing seconds. The IceCats are looking to exact revenge this time around.
The IceCats are looking to end the season strong and fans can catch both games at the Peaks Ice Arena in Provo.
