From a family of fast fiddlers to a country music star, the Provo Center for the Arts opens its new season with a bang.
This week, the arts center, 425 W. Center St., Provo, introduces its "Provo Presents" series with the Hunt Family Fiddlers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and country star Neal McCoy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
As an award-winning family of nine, the Hunt Family Fiddlers performs everything from high-powered step dancing to fast fiddling while featuring Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational and popular music, according to a news release.
Neal McCoy, the twice-named Entertainer of the Year by the TNN/Music City News, also provides an electrifying performance, according to a news release.
The series began for the purpose to offer residents performances from professional entertainment, said Danae Friel, marketing specialist for the arts center.
The Provo Center for the Arts provides a home for the arts and an entertainment venue for Provo residents and visitors in Utah County, Friel said.
"The people that live here are really educated, and they appreciate good entertainment," Friel said.
Tickets are available at the Provo Center for the Arts box office, by calling (801) 852-7007, or online at www.provoartscenter.org.
