A white male dressed in all black robbed the Wynnsong Theaters in northern Provo Wednesday night.

The man, wearing a black ski mask, entered the building and demanded money from employees.

He made threats to customers and employees and indicated that he had a handgun.

"He basically said that he would hurt everybody if he didn't get the money," said Sgt. Mark Crosby, the lead Provo detective of the case. "He was just frustrated he wasn't getting the money as fast as he should."

Theater workers complied with the man's request and provided him with the money he demanded. Immediately after taking the money, he fled the scene on foot, running west.

Officers used every possible means of locating the suspect, yet all attempts proved fruitless, Crosby said. "We weren't able to track him even though we got the dogs out," he added.

Police were unable to discern the man's age or identity, because of the ski mask. Although the exact amount of money is not known, it is estimated that the suspect got away with more than $800.

Anyone one with information should contact Crosby at 801-852-7241.
