Eager for an upset, the Cougar hockey team will hit the ice at home on Saturday to take on regionally-ranked No. 1 Colorado.
Last week the Cougars were disappointed in their quest for an upset against No. 2 Eastern Washington. The team is looking to that game as motivation.
"Hopefully it [last week's game] inspires us to play better," goalie Ben Shapiro said.
The Cougars added an extra practice to this week's schedule in order to better prepare for the tough game against Colorado.
Shapiro said the team is more mentally focused this week and that he hoped the result of that focus would be three periods of good hockey.
"That's definitely what it's going to take for us to win," Shapiro said. "Hopefully we can come out and do that."
Face-off will be at 8:30 tonight at Seven Peaks Ice Arena. Admission is $5.
