Eva Mendes, Kirsten Dunst and Lindsay Lohan are some of the big names that have attended Cirque Lodge Drug Rehab, Alcohol and Addiction Treatment Center. Located in beautiful Sundance, the lodge is just next door to the cozy Provo bubble.
Mendes became the most recent patient when she checked in to Cirque Lodge on Feb. 1 for some addiction issues that she needed to work through, according to an AP story.
"Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support," Mendes' rep told People magazine. "Out of respect for Eva's privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details."
This luxurious mountain retreat has become popular for celebrities and others seeking treatment from their addictions. The Lodge looks out on the Sundance Resort and the Cascade Cirque, after which the Cirque Lodge is named.
Another facility, the Studio, is located on 800 North in Orem near the mouth of Provo Canyon. It is home to the largest ropes challenge course in the world, which is used as part of the experiential therapy program. The Studio also houses an indoor horse arena for equine therapy.
Dunst also recently checked herself into the Lodge, according to a story in Star magazine. During the Sundance Film Festival, Dunst showed up to a scheduled event and acted erratic, prompting those close to her to say, "Kirsten is not in a good place right now."
"She desperately needed help," according to Star magazine. "She seemed to be intoxicated when she checked in because she was acting really erratic. She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking down in tears."
The Web site for Cirque Lodge, http://www.cirquelodge.com, contains numerous testimonials of patients, listed only by first name and last initial, who have gone through treatment and left the Lodge healthy.
"Because of Cirque Lodge I am alive, thriving and happy for the first time in many years," said Brent A. in a testimonial on the Web site. "Cirque Lodge not only saved my life, but reinvented my family structure as well."
"Cirque Lodge is truly well rounded with an excellent rehabilitation program and atmosphere," said John M. in another testimonial. "Having been to another first-class facility, I can confidently say that Cirque Lodge has it all."
A month at the Lodge runs $44,850 and $29850 at the Studio, said a representative at Cirque Lodge admissions through email.
Cirque Lodge accepts males and females ages 18 and older, treating drug addictions, alcohol addictions and other substance abuse issues.
