Women's Services and the Student Honor Association are hosting Jill Stevens, Miss Utah 2007, at this Saturday's lecture, which is open to all students.

"She really is a remarkable person who is doing some remarkable things," said LaNae Valentine, director of women's services and resources.

The lecture will take place Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, in the HFAC.

The title of Stevens lecture is "True Beauty in Duty." Stevens' comments will be addressed to all students, including males and females.

"Nobody should miss out on the opportunity to come see Jill, because she is going to tackle issues that both male and female students can apply into their lives," said Adam Ruri, vice president of the Student Honor Association.

Stevens graduated in 2007 with a degree in nursing from Southern Utah University. She is a sergeant in the U.S. Army, spent time as a medic in Afghanistan and was awarded "America's Choice Award" during this year's Miss America Pageant.

She said she would love everyone to hear my stories and come to understand how they can make it through their own personal minefields in life.
