Young women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were counseled Saturday evening at a general young women meeting in the Conference Center to be steadfast, immovable and make good choices.

The meeting talks were focused on Mosiah 5:15, "Be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works."

President Eyring spoke about the journey of life and the choices that are made along the way.

"You make choices every day and almost every hour that keep you walking in the light, or moving away toward darkness," President Eyring said.

President Eyring cited scriptures as well as personal experiences to illustrate the importance of learning right from wrong.

"You must have faith to pray. You must have faith to ponder the word of God. You must have faith to do those things and go to those places which invite the Spirit of Christ and the Holy Ghost," Eyring said.

Susan W. Tanner, Young Women general president spoke of standing as a witness of Christ. She gave examples of youth standing up for what they knew was right even when it was not popular.

"In these moments, they could have felt alone, but as they stood as witnesses, they felt the companionship and the sustaining presence of the Holy Ghost," Tanner said. "They also were armed with blessings that come from obedience to God's commandments."
