BYU's law school announced five new changes in the faculty and administration to take place within the next two years.
As a result of Dean James R. Rasband taking a position as the associate academic vice president for faculty at BYU, Kif Augustine-Adams and Charles E. Jones, professor of law, will assume the role of associate dean for research and academic affairs beginning fall semester 2008.
"I appreciate the dedicated service that Jim Rasband has provided to the law school," said Dean Kevin Worthen in a press release. "I also welcome Kif Augustine-Adams and the strength that she brings to the appointment. I am grateful for her willingness to serve."
Augustine-Adams received her juris doctorate from Harvard Law School in 1992. She practiced law with the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington before joining the faculty at the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1995.
In addition, three new associate professors and one new professor were hired.
"We welcome our new faculty members and look forward to the strength they will bring to the law school," Worthen said.
Margaret Tarkington, currently a visiting professor at the BYU law school, returns to the school in the fall as an associate professor. Tarkington graduated summa cum laude from the BYU law school in 2002.
Lisa Grow Sun will go from an adjunct professor at the law school to associate professor. She has taught at Stanford Law School and at a law school in China.
David H. Moore is currently clerking for Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court and will join the BYU law school faculty in two years.
RonNell Andersen Jones comes to BYU from the University of Arizona College of Law where she went after her clerkship with Justice Sandra Day O'Connor of the U.S. Supreme Court.
These new faculty members come to the J. Reuben Clark Law School offering a variety of backgrounds and experience to the students and other faculty.
