This Mother's Day, the BYU Bookstore and Campus Craft and Floral have many thoughtful, creative and inexpensive gifts for that special mom. There is a Mother's Day Sale in the bookstore that runs until May 10. This year, Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 11. Students still have a few days to find that perfect gift for Mom.

  • Popular LDS books about mothering such as "A Mother's Touch," "Faith, Hope and Charity" and "Finding the Angel Within" are 25 percent off until Saturday. Gordon Brown, the Bookstore's sales floor manager, said there are many religious books that were popular through Women's Conference and continue to be best-sellers into the Mother's Day season.
  • Candy is also a top-selling item and falls within many students' budgets. Brown said there are many varieties of candy and students can purchase less-expensive items such as a small box of chocolates or a half-pound of fudge.
  • For the cougar mom, selected BYU women's apparel is 30 percent off. The Bookstore offers many sweatshirts and T-shirts with BYU logos.
  • Greeting cards, stationery, popular LDS music and nativities are also offered at discounted prices.
  • The Bookstore's Web site, byubookstore.com, has jewelry, aprons, purses and pink iPod nanos for sale.
  • Campus Craft and Floral is also helping students find gifts for their mothers. They are offering spring flower arrangements you can purchase in the store or online.

Michelle Virtue, manager of Campus Craft and Floral, said popular selling items this year are mixed bouquets in spring colors, tulips and roses. However, the most popular thing this year is making your own bouquet. Customers can customize a bouquet for their mothers with a color scheme, a favorite flower or a personal style.

Additionally, there are "fun things to attach to a flower such as jewelry and journals," Virtue said. A few more gift items include wooden monograms, recipe books and vinyl signs and tiles adorned with sayings like "LOVE Makes a Family" and "Enjoy the Journey."
