Discovery Day: The BYU Museum of Peoples and Cultures is hosting "Passports: A Cultural Discovery Day," 3-8 p.m. at the museum, 700 North 100 East, Provo. The event features hands-on activities and is an open house style, allowing people to come and go as they have time. Free.
Wednesday, June 25
Author presentation: Local LDS romance author Anita Stansfield will speak at the Provo Library, Bullock Room, at 7 p.m. The presentation is part of the 2008 Teen and Adult Summer Ready Program at the library. Free.
"Idol" performance: "American Idol" season six winner Jordin Sparks will perform at 8 p.m. at the SCERA Shell, 699 S. State St., Orem. Theater festival: The 4th Annual National Youth Theatre Festival is scheduled Wednesday through Friday at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 S. State, Orem. Concert series: The Frontier Bank local free summer concert series featuring local musical acts begins its fifth season 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Deer Valley's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater. Lecture: Documentary film producer Dodge Billingsley, whose visit to BYU had to be canceled, has been rescheduled to speak at noon in 238 HRCB. His lecture is titled "Tactical Shifts in the Chechen Insurgency: Yes, There is still a War Going On."

Evening with the Artist: The Sego Art Center is presenting its first monthly Evening with the Artist lecture and discussion series, free and open to the public. Library Showcase: Utah Valley University will celebrate the opening of the new library with the UVU Library Showcase, 1-6:30 p.m. as part of UVUphoria celebration of UVSC becoming a university. The event features activities for all ages, performances, prize drawings.
